Minibus Tours of the New Forest

Welcome to the website for a service which provides informative and tailor made tours to suit the needs of both visitors and locals to this wonderful New Forest. The tour guide is a former Forester with over 40 years experience of British forestry including nearly 20 years associated with the management of the ‘Crown Lands’ of the Forest. The tours are fully licensed and insured and provide the opportunity for short optional walks.

The New Forest is an area which includes many internationally rare habitats and therefore has the highest designations for conservation. It is a unique location which combines natural and social history together with the requirements of a population keen to experience a wide range of recreational activities. The tours are designed to supply a fascinating introduction to the Forest or to explain and detail the range of operations required to protect and conserve the Forest. Your party may select from a range of subjects such as deer, habitats (eg heathland management and ancient woodlands) or learn about the Commoners and their ponies. The roles of the various Agencies involved with the Forest management, such as the Forestry Commission, the Verderers , Natural England and New Forest National Park Authority will also be explained.  During the tours it may be possible to meet some of the characters who carry out the work of the Forest. There are many places of historical interest which will also feature during the tours.

The service is available throughout the year and can, where possible, be booked at short notice. The tours are available in the mornings or afternoons and, during the summer months, also in the evenings. The average tour is 40-50 miles in length. The vehicle carries up to eight passengers in comfort, is air-conditioned and equipped with educational materials and binoculars. The minibus is also equipped with a first aid box. There will be the opportunity for regular comfort breaks at conveniences.

The tours will start and end at your holiday accommodation, a Forest rail/coach station or from a local address and Southampton Cruise Terminals. Tours available for couples or groups of up to 8. Please wear suitable clothing appropriate for the tour.
